This is why I'm hot.

This is where I live, this is where I live. Be jealous, cuz this is where I live.

Okay, well, this is 45min away from where I currently live, at the GORGEOUS Wine Country Inn. Thanks to my best friend Kelly (of tufted headboard fame), and her dad who owns the place, Trevor and I got a relaxing Valentine's night away with absolutely no responsibilities. Woke up this morning to some drizzle, and the view was STILL spectacular.

Napa will always be my home, these views will always be considered "where I live". Funny how we take it for granted, this amazing place where tourists flock to. Guess it takes a night away from the norm to appreciate it.

Check It Out: Local radio DJ gets living room makeover

Not just ANY radio DJ, mind you. This is Vinnie, from Sarah and Vinnie, of RadioAlice fame. You NorCal people know what I'm talking about. My mom started listing to Alice way at the beginning, when it was catering to women's music taste. Alanis and the like.

Well, I've been listening to them ever since. When Vinnie was fired, when NoName joined the crew, when Vinnie came back. Vinnie now has a new lady friend, and Sarah nominated him for a room makeover from local talk show, The View From The Bay.

Most of the furniture and tchotchkes were sourced from IKEA, something you know I'm a BIG fan of. Check out the video!

DIY: Long Sleeve Refashion

So, I woke up this morning a little chilly, but still wanted to wear my pretty dress. (Mostly, because I haven't bought maternity pants yet. Oops.) After going thru my sweater/jacket options, I realized I don't have A. Anything that fits, or B. Anything appropriate for the weather. Everything's too heavy, or wouldn't jive with my dress.

So, lucky me, I remembered I saw a refashion post somewhere along my blog travels. I couldn't find the original post this morning, and with 15min before I had to leave for work, I just kinda winged (wung?) it. (I have now since found the post. Duh. From Amy Karol's Angry Chicken)

I used this shirt (Old Navy favorite tee, long sleeve)

1. I first cut out the neck hem, just right along the stitches.

2. Then, cut from the center of the neck to the bottom hem.

3. Some tutorials stop here, and you can either leave it hanging loose, or if it's really big, tie the corners together, but this wasn't working for me. So, leaving a 2in tie on either side, then cut about 4in off from the bottom hem.

Voila! Perfect little cover up for the foggy NorCal mornings.

(Yeah, I like bathroom shots. Also, shout out to one of my favorite Etsy sellers, Sharlee Gems for my amazing Octopus necklace!)

Shout Out to NorCal bloggers

Wow. How did I not know this girl was in the Bay?

I just found CentsationalGirl today, and she has a MILLION diy projects, AND she's a mommy, and pretty, and generally seems to have her crap together. *sigh* I can always dream, right? Hah.

Anyway, I found a couple projects near and dear to my heart, and frankly, I'm a little overwhelmed by all of it.

DIY: Chair Recovered.
You know why this one is so appealing. I can't seem to find a picture of my chairs in orange crushed velvet, but, they might break your monitor screen.
